The Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Svenja Schulze, will host and lead the work process of the G7 development ministers until 31 December 2022.

Here, G7 development ministers will discuss current issues and challenges in the area of development policy.

Germany is pursuing the following work priorities under the so-called “G7 Development Track”:

  • Global food security
  • Infrastructure investments for sustainable development
  • Climate, energy and development partnerships for climate neutrality
  • Access to vaccines and robust health systems
  • Climate neutrality and social equity in the economic recovery

In addition to these priorities, the development ministers will also continue to pursue items from the previous G7 agenda. These include issues of global health, the Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and advocacy for gender equity.
