The Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, Lisa Paus, will host and lead the work process of the G7 gender equality ministers until 31 December 2022.
The Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, Lisa Paus, will host and lead the work process of the G7 gender equality ministers until 31 December 2022.
Here, G7 gender equality ministers will discuss current issues and challenges in the area of gender equality policy.
Germany is pursuing the following work priorities under the so-called “G7 Gender Equality Track”:
- Structures and mechanisms of the G7 Gender Equality Policy
- Equitable distribution of care work and equal pay
- Promotion of female founders and self-employed women
- Advocating for the rights of LGBTIQ* persons
In addition to these priorities, the gender equality ministers will also continue to pursue items from the previous G7 agenda. These include the economic empowerment of women, educational equality and also prevention and protection from gender-based violence.
Under the German G7 Presidency, the gender equality ministers met in Berlin on 13/14 October 2022.
