G7
The Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture, Cem Özdemir, will host and lead the work process of the G7 agriculture ministers until 31 December 2022.
Here, G7 ministers of agriculture will exchange views on current issues and challenges in the area of agricultural policy and food policy.
Germany is pursuing the following work priorities under the so-called “G7 Agriculture Track”:
- Strengthening sustainable, deforestation-free agricultural supply chains
- Opportunities of carbon farming
- Ongoing reduction of the use of pesticides
In addition to these priorities, the ministers of agriculture will also continue to pursue items from the previous G7 agenda. These include agriculture’s contribution to climate and biodiversity protection, and also global food security.
Under the German G7 Presidency, the ministers of agriculture met on 13/14 May 2022.
