Meetings of the G7 ministers of labour and social affairs
The Federal Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Hubertus Heil, will host and lead the work process of the G7 ministers of labour and social affairs until 31 December 2022.
Here, G7 ministers of labour and social affairs will discuss current issues and challenges in the area of international employment policy and social policy.
Germany is pursuing the following work priorities under the so-called “G7 Labour and Social Track”:
- Combating child labour and forced labour
- Expanding sustainable and social supply chains
- Establishing crisis-proof social protection systems
- Promoting inclusive further education
In addition to these priorities, the ministers of labour and social affairs will also continue to pursue items from the previous G7 agenda. This includes issues relating to health and safety at the workplace as well as international environmental, labour and social standards as a framework for corporate action.
Under the German G7 Presidency, the ministers of labour and social affairs met in Wolfsburg on 24 May 2022.
